Carrie Underwood pays tribute to Loretta Lynn

The 39-year-old musician has paid tribute to the legendary country singer whom she worked with in 2021, with Reba McEntire

on the track 'Still Woman Enough", the song that was the title track of the 50th album of Loretta's after her passing aged 90, 

on Tuesday (04.10.22) and remembered the legend of country music as a "cantankerous tiny pistol" who was also "friendly and sweet".

She posted in her Instagram: "The first time I had the pleasure of meeting Loretta Lynn, it was in The Grand Ole Opry at beginning of my career. 

I was around the table with a fellow artist when someone came up in front of me and hit me in the back!

"I looked around at her and she the most glittering dress...laughing as she walked through the hall, amazed at the things she'd done...

"This is among my beloved stories to share. I believe this story sums her character quite well. 

She was a sly small pistol...friendly and sweet...never shy to be herself and express her thoughts. (sic)"
