Christian Bale's New Movie is Getting Massacred in Reviews

Christian Bale is a revered actor in Hollywood, having starred in films such as American Psycho, The Machinist, and The Prestige.

He also played the role in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

His new movie, which features a host of big stars such as Margot Robbie and John David Washington, is not a huge success.

Rotten Tomatoes gave Amsterdam's first review a disappointing 20%. The newest film by David O. Russell is Amsterdam.

It marks his third collaboration with Christian Bale after two critically acclaimed films, 2010's The Fighter (starring Mark Wahlberg) and 2013's American Hustle (92% rating with critics).

This is the second film he has released without a certified fresh rating in his career. The other was 2015's, Accidental love.

O'Russell's five films have all risen above 90%, including three consecutively from 2010 to 2013, American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook and The Fighter.

Three friends played by Margot Robbie and John David Washington are featured in this film.

They attempt to get their names cleared after being framed as murder victims.
