At the company's Q3 earnings conference, David Zaslav spoke on the future of Harry Potter and other major WBD franchises, noting the fact that "We haven't done a 'Harry Potter movie in 15 years."

Although this may sound innocent, it actually has significant implications, such as the possibility that it indicates the fact that The Wizarding World franchise has been discontinued.

While the final major line Harry Potter movie came out in 2011, the series continues to exist throughout The Fantastic Beasts spin-off series, with Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore coming out in 2022.

David Zaslav's phrase is a clear indication of a few things.

First, stating that there hasn't been any Harry Potter movie in 15 years suggests that the studio does not see the Fantastic Beasts films as a success.

This is understandable since the box office for The Secrets of Dumbledore indicates that the fans aren't appearing as frequently as they did with The mainline Harry Potter films.

Additionally, Zaslav isn't using the Wizarding World brand in reference to the franchise and suggests that WBD could be dropping the brand altogether.
