David Beckham wants people to understand "the importance" of playing football at a grassroots level.

A former England captain 47-year-old spoke about Tuesday night (01.11.22) at the exclusive Disney+ show

in London of the documentary 'Save our Team by David Beckham, which debuts on the streaming service on Wednesday, November 9th.

The story sees David returning to his east London roots to coach his team of Westward Boys, a young youth team of the under-14s age group that is at the bottom of their league, and are facing losing their place.

While he collaborates with the head coaches of the team the show follows his efforts to change the fortunes of the team.

Following the showing of the premiere episode, David took part in an on-stage Q&A session along with Westward Boys players and their coaches to discuss the development of the show and the difficulties they had to face.

When being asked by"Q and A" host Alex Scott what audiences can anticipate from the forthcoming series, the father of four David declared:

"I wanted people to understand how important it is to play grassroots football. It's all about the community and not within east London but, all across the UK.
