Evan Rachel Wood uses music to enter a character's headspace

Evan Rachel Wood makes a playlist that "matches the script and character" when she is signed on to a new job.

The Westworld star's most recent film has been released. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, in which she is the role of a fictionalized version of Madonna with Daniel Radcliffe as Weird Al.

The actress discussed the process she uses to prepare for roles during a chat in a chat with Collider Evan said that music helps her to get into the right mind space.

"I usually just know the lines as well as I possibly can," she began.

"I do my best to not be too focused on the show, as I'm bound to stress myself out, especially if it's an emotional scene or something that I want to flow freely throughout the day.

It's difficult for me to do rehearsals for these scenes without feeling the emotion present. It's a challenge to keep the emotion back quite a bit.

"But the first thing I always do when I start a project is making a playlist.

I make a playlist that matches the script and the character, or the scenes that I'm doing and that becomes my sort of roadmap."

Evan's next project includes her film Queen which she directed and wrote, and the war-themed film All That I Am, which also stars Vanessa Redgrave, Rufus Sewell, and Eliza Scanlen.
