Guardians of the Galaxy's Groot Is Now Officially a God

As cosmic heroes as they are, The Guardians of the Galaxy have faced a variety of alien races but none are as powerful as Flora Colossus Groot

now, Marvel explains why, because the alien lifeform has been closely linked to Groot, the God of Thunder himself, Thor Odinson.

The Guardians of the Galaxy's Groot is an exiled Flora Colossus from Planet X - the second major Marvel character with this name

after the evil planet's ruler Groot first made an appearance in Tales to Astonish #13.

While it may appear to be an arboreal creature, Groot is actually staggeringly impressive.

He not only has incredible power over all forms of plants and an enthralling healing capacity and healing power but he was used to be the most powerful weapon used by the Gardener

one of the Elders tasked to guard some of the Infinity Gems - and only recently was able to imprison a god in his mind as the Guardians had to face Zeus as the dark Olympians.

In Jason Aaron, Kev Walker, Dean White, and Cory Petit's Avengers 1,000,000 BC,

fans are finally given a reason reason Groot is portrayed as impressive and special.
