Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio Movie Puts Disney's Remake To Shame

Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio could easily outdo Disney's live-action Pinocchio remake.

Disney's greatest 2D-animated classics remain to remain relevant today and have had great success as Disney live-action adaptations.

The success of blockbusters such as The Lion King and The Jungle Book led to the opening of the gates for a variety of Disney remakes.

Now, 2022 is the year of Pinocchio along with The Little Mermaid.

While Pinocchio from Disney's Pinocchio has a distinct advantage because of the precedent set by the 1940 2-D animated film

along with Tom Hanks' popularity, Guillermo Del Toro's next Pinocchio is a more impressive movie.

Disney's live-action Pinocchio remains true to the 1940 classic in regards to plot and character design,

but it does run through a problem that other live-action remakes of Disney have encountered before that is it lacks a clear idea of the story's purpose.

The story is too sanitized and the characters are not utilized to their fullest and the role of Pinocchio's character

in the story is largely ignored in a way that undermines the primary message of growing and maturing.
