Inside the CMA Awards Tribute to Loretta Lynn

Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert are teaming up in tribute to the late singer.

The annual 56th CMA Awards, slated to be broadcast on ABC this Tuesday (Nov. 9)

The show will be an honoring of the life and work of the legendary singer-songwriter Loretta Lynn, who died on Oct. 4 at the age of 90.

will perform on the stage to pay tribute to Lynn and Billboard was present during rehearsals in Nashville's Bridgestone Arena for their performance.

The celebration began with footage of Lynn attending the Ryman Auditorium in 1972 receiving the CMA Entertainer of the Year prize She was only the second woman ever to receive the country music association's top award.

This year will mark the 50th anniversary of this milestone, in which Lynn was crowned winner against category-leading competitors Merle Haggard Freddie Hart, Charley Pride, and Jerry Reed.

Lynn has won a number of CMA Awards during her career with three of them being female awards for vocalist of the year and four vocal duos of the year awards together with Conway Twitty.

Kentucky is where she was born. Lynn was admitted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1988.
