LeBron James says Brittney Griner is not a good choice to return to the United States

NBA player LeBron James questioned if WNBA player Brittney Griner should be allowed to return to her home in the United States whenever she is released from the prison she was in within Russia.

The Los Angeles Lakers star made the statement regarding his fellow Phoenix Mercury actor in the promo for his show The Shop,

which is scheduled to air on the weekend on the YouTube channel of Uninterrupted.

"Now, how can she feel like America has her back?" James said. "I would be feeling like, 'Do I even want to go back to America?'"

James later went on Twitter for clarification of his statements.

"My comments on 'The Shop' regarding Brittney Griner wasn't knocking our beautiful country," the tweeter wrote.

"I was simply saying how she's probably feeling emotionally along with so many other emotions, thoughts, etc inside that cage she's been in for over 100+ days! Long story short #BringHerHome"

It's not the first time James has made comments about Griner's circumstances.

At the end of June, he requested the intervention of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to get Griner home to America.
