Sonic Frontiers Is Nostalgic But Tedious, Say, Critics

Sonic Frontiers reviews are now appearing on the web. Based on what we've seen so far, the critics believe it's an enjoyable game.

But it's not the best one. The nostalgia helped to soften some of the disappointments, but it was unable to entirely cover up its many imperfections.

The plot is average However, you're here to play Blue the hedgehog aren't you? Don't be expecting any revolutionary successes as an open-world title.

A few reviewers were enthralled by the fresh open-world version of Sonic gameplay, but they were beaten down by the monotony of combat and exploring.

The concepts aren't particularly original following the way Breath of the Wild redefined the open-world genre however some critics complain that the game's implementation is clunky.

The critics weren't thrilled with the switching between 2D and 3D views. Some players who thought the concept appealing were turned off by the slow implementation.

This seems to be the case with how people experienced the game's puzzles and battles too.

The reviewer at GameSpot, Richard Wakeling, felt the game's use of a skills tree was redundant since every move will eventually unlock.

It's as if Frontiers is trying so hard to convince players to view that it's an open-world game that it's a bit overloaded.
