On Thursday night, the Boston Celtics announced that Ime Udoka, head coach of the team's 2022-23 seasons, was being suspended.
The reason is an intimate relationship Udoka had with a female staff member.
Shams Charania, The Athletic's latest report, suggests that this was not true.
Sources claim that the relationship was first discovered by some members of the Celtics team in July.
Charania explained that team leadership believed that the relationship was mutually agreed upon at that point.
Sources said that Udoka had made unwelcome comments towards the woman, leading to the team initiating an internal interview."
Udoka has apologized for his actions.
Joe Mazzulla has been named interim head coach by the Celtics for the upcoming season.
