"I don't find her perfection charming. I find it annoying," one blogger wrote about Hollywood bigwig Anne Hathaway, and that is the more pleasant end of the "Hathahate." Why is that?

The actress herself reflected on the peak of the online hate that was directed towards her.

This took off after she won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2013 for her role in "Les Miserables"--which could have been a cause of celebration.

In the Annual Women in Hollywood event on October 17, 2022, the actress delivered a speech that spoke about how she came through that traumatic incident.

"Ten years ago, I was given an opportunity to look at the language of hatred from a new perspective," Hathaway said in her speech, according to IndieWire.

She said she was making a crucial factor for her. "When what transpired, occurred I realized that I didn't want to be associated with this kind of energy on any level.

"We don't have the time to talk about the many causes of the violence of hate and the urgent need to put it to an end.
