Writers Reportedly Boycott SNL After Dave Chappelle Announced As Upcoming Host

"Saturday Night Live" writers are reported to be refusing to host the show due to the decision to permit the comedian Dave Chappelle to host in November. 12.

The writers are defending themselves against what they believe to be racist remarks Chappelle made in the 2021 Netflix special,

"The Closer," and have taken an oath, reportedly refusing to endorse his role as host as per Page Six.

"They're not going to do the show," an insider who is familiar with the issue told the newspaper. "But none of the actors are boycotting," the source claimed.

Chappelle is set as the host alongside the musical star Black Star, but the producers don't want to be tied in any way with the appearance as per Page Six.

Reps for Chappelle have reported that they had an experience that was different, noting that the renowned comedian had previously had writers'

conferences and there was not any indication that there was any kind of a disturbance as per Page Six.

"The room was filled with writers. They all presented ideas, and were very enthusiastic about it. .... Dave wants to have a blast," Chappelle's representatives told Page Six.
